Do you know how visitors navigate your website?
Google Analytics came out with a new feature a few months back called visitor flow. It enables you to view a flow chart that shows you how visitors navigate through your website. This is a great way to understand what visitors are doing and improve your site so that visitors take action.
First you’ll need to install Google analytics to your website so you can start tracking visitor data. After a month or so you’ll be able to see how many visitors are landing on your site and what pages they visit. If you notice a lot of people are landing on a page and then immediately leaving then make sure you have a call to action at the bottom that gives them the opportunity to visit another page.
The term bounce rate refers to a visitor that lands on a page of your site and then immediately leaves that page without visiting any other site pages. What this means in google’s eyes is that the person didn’t find what they were looking for so the site may not be relevant for that particular search term. If your site has a high bounce rate it can affect rankings and you might be losing customers.
